The other day...

The other day ...I questioned myself about my practice...
I really have faith in the fact that the enlighten ones like Padma Shambhava  will help me if I recite his seven – line prayer said with a skull drum played rhythmically and at the same time reciting it or singing it in a low pitch. ...Nevertheless, they will certainly not walk my path for me. Then I thought...
It would be nice to have Michael here to sing an Erma Doha song for me..., but that would not do the trick either...because I really don’t know if I understand de Dohas or the prayer right. Actually, I really don’t know for sure if I have the basics right...see

The image of Miyagi from Karate kid came to my mind...

”when you are uncertain of your practice return to practice the basics”... immediately my mind sewer was opened ...

What does awareness really mean?...what is real mindfulness like? ...Love?...Compassion?...what is the true meaning of this?...when will my imagination stop tricking me? Making me believe I am practicing the real thing?  ...meanwhile... deluded I’m going nowhere...

Then a Dhammapadha verse came out...

A fool who knows his foolishness
is wise at least to that extent,
but a fool who thinks himself wise
is a fool indeed.

Perhaps if the Sangha shares its point of view about these things with me it would help me.

Namo Sanghaya!

One day in Bodh Gaya some time ago...
It is said that soon after his enlightenment the Buddha passed a man a common peasant on the road who was struck by the Buddha's extraordinary radiance and peaceful presence. The man stopped and asked,
My friend, what are you?
Are you a celestial being or a god?

No

said the Buddha
Well, then, are you some kind of magician or wizard?
again the Buddha answered

No

Are you a man?

No

Well, my friend, then what are you? the Buddha replied

I am awake
Some days after... his close friends and/or first followers used to call him Siddhartha, but now they were confused because they didn’t know how to call him anymore...so they asked him...
should we call you Bud-light, or precious one, or your holiness or perhaps your eminence?
NO
You should call me Tataghata
And what is that Precious?
The one who has gone beyond and came back.

Tataghata Om Muni Muni Maha Munaye Swaha
